Thank you for your patience as we work through this difficult time. While we are anxious to be able to accommodate all of our patients, your safety and the safety of our team are our highest priority.  Because of this, we will be seeing patients on a limited basis for the time being.

If we have had to cancel your appointment and you are waiting for us to call to reschedule, please be patient with us. We will be prioritizing the appointments that have been missed and will be doing our very best to reach out to you soon.

We are doing everything we can to make our office as safe as possible. Here are some of the steps we are taking to maintain a high level of safety:

Our assistants, hygienists and doctor will be wearing a clean gown, mask, face shield, and googles to see patients. Our other team members will be wearing a mask. We also ask that patients wear a mask as they enter and leave the building. One will be provided if you do not have one.

All patients will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms before their appointment and at arrival for their appointment. We will also be taking all staff and patients temperature upon arrival. Please see the consent below. This must be signed by all patients seen at our office.

All patients are to remain in their car and call the office upon arrival. Patients will be screened by phone and read the consent form. A team member will either meet the patient at their car or the door, offer a mask if needed, be given hand sanitizer, have their temperature recorded and they will be asked to sign the consent form. They will then be taken directly to the operatory.

We will have air purifiers that clean the air 5 times an hour in each operatory.  We will have sneeze screens at the reception desk for checking out.

To our hygiene patients:

With the extra precautions in place, extra time will be allotted for each appointment. This unfortunately means that we will not be able to see as many patients as we normally would. If we’ve had to re-schedule your appointment. We truly apologize for the inconvenience.  Again, if you are waiting for us to call to reschedule, please be patient with us.

Our hygienists will be scaling to remove tarter, plaque and stain and taking any necessary x-rays. Dr. Vandeventer will also be doing an exam. However, hygienists will not be polishing or using an ultrasonic scaler at this time. Both of these things create aerosols which is how the COVID-19 virus is spread and we are trying to minimize the risk of spreading the disease.  You will be given your prophy paste to use at home.

Screening Questions:

Do you now or have you had in the last 14-21 days:

A fever, shortness of breath or other difficulties breathing, have a cough, flu-like symptoms, gastrointestinal upset, fatigue, experienced a recent loss of taste or smell or been around anyone that has had these symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19?

If you are over the age of 60, have heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease, diabetes, or any other auto-immune disorders, we highly recommend rescheduling any non-emergency procedures.

Please read this consent form prior to your appointment. You will be required to sign it upon arrival for your appointment.

I knowingly and willingly consent to have dental treatment completed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I understand that the COVID-19 virus has a long incubation period, during which carriers of the virus may not show symptoms and still be highly contagious.  I know that it is impossible to know who is carrying the virus.

Some dental procedures create aerosols, which is how the disease is spread. This can linger in the air for a period of time, increasing my risk of contracting the virus in a dental office.

I confirm with all the statements on this consent and that all of my responses have been truthful.  I take full responsibility of any consequences and risks of dental treatment.
